Smart Google Chrome Icons For Web Design
Adding Google Chrome Icons to your web design template is a great idea, due to the increasing numbers of users opting for this browser. In useage numbers it still lags behind Internet Explorer and FireFox, but is now heading up to rival Safari as the 3rd most used browser. Mainly because Google Chrome is getting pushed by the big G within their new social media platform.
You have probably seen in some web design templates a footer area with “best viewed in..” and a browser name such as FireFox. If your site is fully cross browser compatible it can looks smart to add some browser logos to an area such as this, adding Google Chrome icons to it will also encourage people to test out your site in these different browsers. I do like a lot of features in Google Chrome, and I think in years to come it will be a rival to FireFox, so it’s worth encourgaing Google Chrome users to come back via the use of icons.
Here are some fantastic smart Google Chrome icons I found whilst working on a project recently. Following up from our recent post on Facebook Icons, these are all well known icons or logos to enhance your website. There are loads of others out there, but these are about the best in my opinion. Hope you enjoy and share this!
The Old Google Chrome Icon
Well before I show off a few custom designed versions of the logos, we may aswell offer you the Google Chrome logos in their original formats. These below are the old ones, in a 3d stylee.
New Google Chrome Logo
These are the new versions as of 2011. You will see they have lost the 3d effect, and to me look better for current web design styles. The new Google Chrome logo also comes in the two colors available as in the old icon set.
Black And White Chrome Icons
Within this icon set from brsev over at deviantart.com there is a really nice black and white Google Chrome icons. Nice if you are not wanting to use any of the standard old or new Chrome logos above and wish it to be less important on the design.
Square Google Chrome Icon
Here we have an icon set over at deviantart.com again, but this time it covers all browser logos in a square button style. You have Google Chrome icon, FireFox, Safari and Internet Explorer amongst others. Quite nice, although not the greatest, but certainly another option.
